What Tow Ratings is

Tow Ratings publishes towing capacity, GVWR, curb weight, and payload data sourced from manufacturer towing guides and OEM specification documents. The data is republished as a free reference. By using the site you agree to the terms below.

Use of the data

The underlying figures are manufacturer-published specifications. You're free to use individual towing numbers however you like — when you buy a vehicle, when you buy a trailer, when you check whether a combination is legal. The presentation, layout, and editorial copy of Tow Ratings itself are © Tow Ratings and offered for personal, non-commercial reading. Don't scrape the entire site to mirror it.

Accuracy

We reproduce manufacturer figures without modification. Towing capacity is a published rating, not a guarantee — your actual safe towing weight depends on hitch class, weight distribution, trailer brakes, tire load rating, altitude, grade, and ambient conditions. Always verify the figure against your vehicle's door-jamb sticker and owner's manual before towing. We make no warranty that the data is up to date or free from errors. See our methodology page for full sourcing and correction policy.

No advice

Nothing on this site is financial, automotive, legal, or safety advice. Don't treat it as such. If you're unsure whether a specific combination is safe or legal, talk to a qualified mechanic, hitch installer, or your state DMV.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Tow Ratings and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on the information published here.
